What are cookies and what types of cookies do we use?
Cookies by themselves cannot be used to discover the identity of the user, and they do not in any way damage your computer.
You can read more specifically about the different types of cookies used on this site in table below. More information about cookies in general can also be found on allaboutcookies.org.
|Type of Cookie||What do they do?||Do these cookies collect my personal data / identify me?|
|Session Cookies||These cookies are essential to make the QualityCare™ website work correctly, as they enable you to move around our website and use our features.
Examples include remembering previous actions (e.g. entered text) when navigating back to a page in the same session.
|Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave the QualityCare™ site. These cookies don’t identify you as an individual.
If you do not accept these cookies, it may affect the performance of the website, or parts of it.
|Persistent Cookies||Persistent cookies help our site remember your information and settings when you visit them in the future. This results in faster and more convenient access since, for example, you don't have to login again.||A persistent cookie remains on your device for much longer or until you manually delete it (how long the cookie remains on your device will depend on the duration or "lifetime" of the specific cookie and your browser settings).|
Sitecore uses a session cookie (SC_ANALYTICS_SESSION_COOKIE) and a permanent cookie (SC_ANALYTICS_GLOBAL_COOKIE) to handle its internal analytics tracking.
A session cookie (ASP.NET_SessionId) is used to identify the active session, and a session or permanent cookie (. ASPXAUTH) to store user login.
The Add this (share) function uses a permanent cookie to the following:
Finally, we use a Google Analytics cookie, further information can be seen here:
How do you avoid and delete cookies?
The browsers of most computers, smartphones and other web-enabled devices are typically set up to accept cookies. If you wish to amend your cookie preferences for this site or any other websites, you can do this through your browser settings. Your browser's 'help' function will tell you how to do this.
However, please remember that cookies are often used to enable and improve certain functions on our site. If you therefore choose to disable the cookies that we use, this may impact your experience while on the QualityCare™ site, for example you may not be able to visit certain areas of the site and you may not receive personalised information.
If you use different devices to view and access the site (e.g. your computer, smartphone, tablet etc.) you will need to ensure that each browser on each device is adjusted to suit your cookie preferences.
